About Dr. Adam
Dr. Adam Staniscia was born and raised in Surrey, BC. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Simon Fraser University, which has provided a foundation for his diverse experiences in the applied sciences. For instance, he worked as a lab technician at Simon Fraser University and at Lifelabs, where he was responsible for extracting, amplifying, and sequencing DNA. Dr. Adam is proud of his mixed Italian and English heritage, and is an avid linguist – he speaks English, French, and Italian, and Cantonese is next on his list!
Dr. Adam completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney, Australia. This program is known for its emphasis on pursuing excellence in clinical dentistry with early hands-on patient care. While in Australia, Dr. Adam could often be found sunbathing, swimming, and falling off of surfboards!
After completing his dental degree, Dr. Adam moved to Courtenay, BC, where he provided comprehensive dental services including fillings, crowns and bridges, complicated extractions, Invisalign, veneers, dentures, root canals, wisdom teeth removals, gum surgeries, and Botox. Dr. Adam is passionate about dentistry and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to each patient. This dedication has him attending continuing education courses both locally and abroad to keep up to date with the latest advances in dentistry.
Dr. Adam is a very active individual who enjoys spending time outdoors. When he’s not at the clinic, you can find him hiking, fishing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, rock climbing, or playing hockey at the local rinks. He also prides himself on his cooking abilities and frequently showcases his cuisine to friends and family.
About Dr. Derek Yuen
Dr. Yuen is a local of the lower mainland, growing up in North Delta. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, majoring in Microbiology and Immunology. Derek obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston, Massachusetts at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2003. Since completing his education and going into private practice, Dr. Yuen makes continued education a priority. His goals include offering his patients the best care with the latest methods and technology. In his spare time, Derek enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, cheering on his daughters on the field hockey pitch, and cycling up mountains.
